Another way to look at the trans issue is that other people's gender problems shouldn't be a defining factor in your life. The fact they make it so is intrusive upon your personal freedom 
I do believe trans people have their own challenges, but there are so many bigger problems in the world than everyone worrying about which bathroom to use. The US whines about such trivial things while over in Arab countries, simply BEING gay or trans is a death wish. Other less extreme countries such as South Korea still struggle with accepting the fact that someone is different. In fact, Japan has a saying where “if a nail sticks out, it should be beaten down”. Trans Americans have very little to fear compared to trans across the world.
